Red yeast rice refers to the product of fermentation of rice with various strains of the yeast Monascus purpureus (Went). Red yeast rice have favorable effects on lipids, lowering cholesterol and triglycerides. Red yeast rice is a natural compound that supports cholesterol wellness. Red yeast rice extract was extracted from embryonic rice fermented with red yeast (Monascus ruber).
