BAM club vs. club info

Postby pwakefield on Tue Apr 29, 2008 8:26 pm

After some confusion about BAM (Battle At Midway) and the club vs. club competition, we have received clarification.

Here is what the representatives from BAM wrote:

Teams must be comprised of 3 to 5 members so you will need to make sure you've got at least 2 more people from Timp racing. If you get more than 3-5 people...great, what your club members will then do is register for the Timp Tri Club Team B, when B team fills up we'll start a C Team. Each competitor on your team will complete the entire race. The top 3 competitors from each team will be scored. The times of the 4th and 5th (4th & 5th team members not neccessary) team competitors will be used for tie-breaking, if necessary.

We then asked about all the Timp Tri Club members who have already signed up and asked about the full club vs. club issue. Here is their reply:

OK, we have 2 options.

1 - You can have all of your members that have already signed up for BAM and wish to compete in the team competition pay $10 to you and then you as a club can cut BAM one lump sum check for that $10 per person fee. You can then just give us that check and the list of names the money corresponds with.

2 - I can set up a PayPal portal where those members that have already signed up for BAM and want to do the team comp can pay $10 by credit card online and then just list their name and their team name.

Let us know which route you would prefer and we'll make it happen.

Any suggestions on which route you want to take?

The response seems to imply that if we race as a team we "will fnish". This is good as I am doing my first oly distance. I can go either way, but might hurt our results. I am also happy to race incognito if necessary.

Any points for volunteering? I have several races in a row so I don't think I want to race this one but might be able to sneak up and volunteer..especially if it helps the team's cause.
